『偶然と選択によるコンポジション──』
“ラヂオ Ensembles アイーダ”の3rdアルバム登場！
BCLチューナーを抱えたラヂオデリックなパフォーマー「Radio ensembles Aiida」の新作が届いた。前2作のフィールド一発録音による偶然性の高い“音日記”的作風を発展させ、同様のフィールド音源から厳然とした意図によるコンポジションを施した作品などが加わったのが特徴だ。曲づくりの手法に独自のチャンス・オペレーションを導入したことで、聴く側の意識のあり方への問いかけが明確になっている。平成ラストデイ＠DOMMUNEでの“φonon Radio Orchestra”ライヴ演奏も収録！
2018年初頭に発動した『φonon（フォノン）』は、EP-4の佐藤薫がディレクターを務め、CDメディアを中心にエレクトロニクス／ノイズ／アンビエント──系のアルバム作品をリリースしている先鋭的レーベルだ。
令和元年のトップを飾るリリースの1枚は、A.Mizuki のソロ・ユニットであるラヂオ Ensembles アイーダの「by chance ≒ by choice」。これまでに発表された「IN A ROOM」と「From ASIA」のRadio Of The Dayシリーズ2作に続くサード・アルバムだ。前2作同様、BCLチューナー片手に訪れたタイ／アメリカ／日本──各地でのフィールド・レコーディング音源を素材としながらも、本作では、複数音源を恣意的にミックスしたり、サイコロをロールして出た数字による偶然の順番で並べてミックスしたりと、トラックごとに異なる脱々構築的な試みが成功している。
従来の手法を深化~発展させ、仕掛けられた偶然と意図的／恣意的な選択とが限りなくイコールに近づこうとする空間に、脱構築と構築がせめぎ合う不確定的コンポジションが奇跡的に成立し、不可思議な時空を表出させる。意図と恣意と選択、選択は仕掛けられた偶然、偶然は選択された必然──と、リスナーに“人が何に価値を見いだすのか？”を問う、価値への挑戦とも言える意欲作だ。なお、テンテンコ、佐藤薫、森田潤が参加し、時間指定された進行表でBCLラヂオを演奏した19年平成ラストデイ＠DOMMUNEの“φonon Radio Orchestra”ライヴ演奏も収録している。

This is the third album of “Radio ensembles Aiida”.
With the previous 2 albums, the various co-incidental natural sounds were found and expressed, so-called “sound diary” style, this 3rd album is to extend the “sound diary” style to add the intentions that strictly controls the way the composition is heading to.
Also, each track within this album has successfully distinguished and emphasized the uniqueness by having different intentions that each track has constructed by an unique attempt, such as arbitrarily mixing the multiple sound sources for a track, and rolling the dice and line up the sound sources by the FIFO order for the other track, etc.
I have to say, this album is one of the most ambitious works that she has challenged the values found by others and ask the listeners, “ what do people find the value in? “
In addition, the live streaming performance, ”φonon Radio Orchestra” at DOMMUNE is also included in this album, in which she performed with various artists, Kaoru Sato, Jun Morita, and Tentenko, on a timed progress chart.
